Title: Backrooms Director Reacts To Rumors That Heās Making A Portal Movie
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 13:15:27 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/backrooms-director-wears-a-valve-hoodie-to-interview-and-people-think-hes-teasing-a-portal-movie/
Kane Parsons made one of 2026's most highly acclaimed and commercially successful movies in Backrooms, and everyone wants to know what he'll do next. A lot of people think he's going to make a Portal movie, based on Valve's hit series, and his latest appearance has fans convinced that's on tap.
Parsons recently appeared on Kyle Buchanan's podcast wearing a Valve hoodie. Parsons is a huge fan of Valve and its work, so he very well may have been wearing the hoodie like anyone wears a piece of clothing bearing the name or logo of their favorite thing. But others believe it was an intentional choice by Parsons to wear the Valve hoodie to stoke the rumors of a Portal movie.
In the interview, Parsons said he's working on three "dream projects" right now, and he can't talk about them. The other people involved might "get me with their space lasers," Parsons joked. He added that these people can "see through walls," and fans are taking that to be another reference to Portal and its gameplay system that allows players to get through walls with a special gun.
Parsons said he has "loved" taking meetings with Valve. "Lovely people over there," he said.
"Is there anything on the table in any way, shape, or form?" Parsons said of his discussions with Valve. He said he would be totally OK if nothing ever materializes. "It's more having an abstract, creative conversation that could flow in like 30 different directions," he said.
https://twitter.com/kylebuchanan/status/2115459007494373675
Don't expect Parsons to make another movie anytime soon, though. He said he's still at the "information-collection phase" and that he wants to choose projects that give him enough "mobility creatively."
"I'm not trying to bite off more than I can chew currently. I'm trying to pick things that are going to force me to learn about subjects that I think are foundational to things I want to learn about later in life," he said.
Parsons, who is 21 years old, previously told Buchanan directly that he was looking into directing a Portal movie "with a lot of caution and a lot of curiosity."
In 2013, Valve announced plans to investigate the possibility of making Portal and Half-Life movies. Star Wars and Star Trek director JJ Abrams later came aboard to make the Portal movie. Warner Bros. was making the movie and hired a writer. In 2021, Abrams said he thought the Portal movie could get made.
As things tend to happen in Hollywood, however, the Portal movie never materialized, and neither did the Half-Life film.
Valve is known to take its time and be selective with its projects, and that very nature is what Parsons said he likes about Valve. Parsons recently said he respects Valveās integrity for making things because it wants to, and not just to make money..
Anyone who has seen Backrooms may have noticed that the filmās creaking door sound was borrowed from Portal. Parsons has also said Valveās Portal series has been his single biggest influence creatively.
Parsons said he is so obsessed with Portal that he travels to the gameās fictional setting in his dreams. Many people have pointed out that Backroomsā set design gives off a lot of Portal vibes.
Despite his enthusiasm for Valve and Portal, Parsons is also cautious about adaptations.
āNeeding to step into someone elseās view of life tends to damage the initial point for me,ā he said in a recent interview. āSo the only ones that I would look at are ones that have shaped my own experience of life so much that I feel like I have something to do with that conversation in the first place.ā
Parsons is also connected to gaming through his family. His father, Michael Parsons, worked at Telltale Games and now works at Skydance.
Title: Fortnite Is About To Sell Half An Elle Fanning In The Item Shop
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 17:30:41 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/fortnite-is-about-to-sell-half-an-elle-fanning-in-the-item-shop/
Fortnite's very last new collaboration for this year's Halloween season is with Predator: Badlands, and it includes the first Predator skin that's ever been available outside the permanently locked Chapter 2 Season 5 battle pass. But the main attraction in this set may actually be the back bling, which is the top half of Thia, the Weyland-Yutani android, played by Elle Fanning, who spends most of the movie strapped to the protagonist's back. The whole Predator: Badlands set hits the Fortnite shop on October 28 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
It's exactly what fans of Dan Trachtenberg's film have hoped for since the collab was first announced last month. We knew a new Yautja (the in-universe name for the Predator species) skin was on the way, but it wasn't until the cosmetics were granted to content creators on Wednesday that we knew about the Thia back bling. In the film, a damaged Thia, torn in half on a hostile planet by a legendary alien beast called the Kalisk, teams up with a young Yautja called Dek in order to survive the monsters and other, more insidious threats that are hanging around the place.
Since Thia spends much of the movie on Dek's back, she makes perfect sense to include as a back bling. Still, she's an extremely unusual one--it's only the second time we've had a human-shaped body as a back bling, after the similar C-3PO one from 2024, and it's the one of only three back blings that use a real person's likeness, after the Lil Tecca plushie and the Tyler the Creator doll.
The Thia back bling is tagged as being reactive, which means it should move or make some kind of noise in response to things you do during a match. But it may be bugged right now, because these cosmetics have already been granted to content creators, like PIZ0 and VALtheVAL, and it doesn't seem to do anything in videos that those folks have posted so far.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 and the Fortnitemares event both wrap up on Halloween night, with the new One Piece-themed mini-season kicking off on Sunday, November 1.
Title: WoW: Forever Content Updates Will Come Slower Than You Might Expect
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 17:16:42 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/wow-forever-content-updates-will-come-slower-than-you-might-expect/
Developer Blizzard's new version of its flagship MMORPG, World of Warcraft: Forever, will receive content updates "every four months," avoiding modern WoW's somewhat controversial eight-week patch cycle.
In an interview with IGN, Forever principal game designer Kris Zierhut revealed the content schedule plan and explained Blizzard's reasoning. He said WoW Classic's Season of Discovery received updates "way too fast," every 8-10 weeks.
Since the launch of WoW's Dragonflight expansion in 2022, an eight-week update schedule is also what modern WoW operates on. Its more frequent patch schedule means there's always something new to do, but has been criticized by some players due to the buggy nature of recent updates and lackluster content.
https://youtu.be/9AlEQvn4dlc?si=JHSRubJ8HwfkO_Lw
On the other hand, some older expansions, like Warlords of Draenor and Shadowlands, saw content droughts that lasted six months or more, leaving players hungry for something new to do. Forever will split the difference.Ā
"We're fairly convinced the correct [update] rate is something closer to once every four months or 17 weeks or three times a year," Zierhut said.
Just because major updates will be coming every four or so months doesn't mean there won't be anything new to do between patches. Zierhut said some content will unlock partway through those four-month patch cycles.
"It's not just patch day comes [around], here's a content fire hose, and now we're silent for four months," he said. "A lot of that is, 'Hey, there's a time event calendar that gradually unlocks things and opens them up over those four months' to give things a little bit more life instead of all at once."
According to a Forever content roadmap released during BlizzCon 2026, the latest version of Blizzard's MMORPG will receive its first major update in Spring 2027. That update will add new raids, dungeons, and quests, and mark the start of a new PvP season. Another major update is slated for Summer 2027 and will add yet another new raid, revamp an existing raid from WoW Classic, add two additional dungeons, see a new legendary item and quest chain, and introduce updates to the game's professions and its new Legacy system.
WoW: Forever launches on November 4, but you can technically go ahead and make your character now if you paid for the game's new playable race. With less than a week before launch, Blizzard has been busy announcing changes and improvements ahead of its release, with major changes to racial abilities, improvements to layering, and the addition of a new server option.Ā
Title: Sleeping Dogs Movie Director Explains Why The Adaptation Is Taking So Long
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 17:14:09 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sleeping-dogs-movie-director-explains-why-the-adaptation-is-taking-so-long/
Like many video game movies, Sleeping Dogs seems stuck in development hell. Even though it looked like progress on this adaptation of the cult-classic action game was once again picking up when Shang-Chi star Simu Liu started teasing new developments last year,Ā and Timo Tjahjanto (Nobody 2)Ā was later announced as the director,Ā there's been little word since on whether the film will ever get off the ground. What's taking so long? According to Tjahjanto, the slow approach is by design.
"Trust me when I say Simu and I are doing our best to slowly make this come into fruition," Tjahjanto wrote on X/Twitter. "Trying to stay as loyal to Wei Shen's tale while adding layers to make the narrative more fitting into a feature film is not an easy task. We're taking our time to make the best version of [Sleeping Dogs] the movie."
Sleeping Dogs
Sleeping Dogs isn't exactly a complex story, as the 2012 game saw undercover cop Wei Shen's loyalties tested after he infiltrated a Hong Kong triad and found himself in the middle of a gangland civil war. It's a fairly standard tale for a game inspired by Hong Kong action movies, unless Tjahjanto is trying to weave in the DLC's story, which introduced an undead army and magical tea.
Sleeping Dogs is hardly the first video game adaptation to simmer in the background, as dozens of other projects are currently in varying stages of development. One notable example is the Ghost of Tsushima movie, which Chad Stahelski has been attached to direct for several years now; last we heard, Stahelski said a script was ready.
That was in 2023, and with the John Wick director currently working on finishing up the new Highlander movie starring Henry Cavill, don't expect to see Jin Sakai in the live-action flesh anytime soon--at least an anime adaptation of the popular samurai open-world game will land in 2028.
Title: CoD: Modern Warfare 4 And Warzone Season 1 Release Date And Details
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 17:04:50 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/cod-modern-warfare-4-and-warzone-season-1-release-date-and-details/
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 just released on October 23, but Season 1 is already scheduled to arrive next week. This inaugural season includes the game's first battle pass, more weapons, and a new DMZ map. Warzone's integration is also included with the big update, bringing two Modern Warfare-themed maps to Call of Duty's battle royale.
Call of Duty Season 1 start times
Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone arrives on November 6. Call of Duty is shifting back to later releases for post-launch updates this year, with Season 1 arriving on November 6 at 12 AM ET / 5 AM GMT and on November 5 at 9 PM PT.
What to expect from Season 1
New weapons and blueprints
This first season of Modern Warfare 4 includes a battle pass packed with cosmetics, multiple seasonal events, and new weapons to unlock.
Battle pass
The Season 1 battle pass features over 100 pieces of unlockable content (excluding BlackCell) and includes two base weapons to unlock. The paid $10 pass is needed in order to unlock all the standard pass rewards, and Call of Duty's $30 BlackCell bundle returns this year for those wanting even more cosmetics to unlock.
Four seasonal weapons
Cronen Osprey assault rifle (Battle pass)
CSG-35 submachine gun (Battle pass)
JAK 12 shotgun (Mid-season event)
ZLR Talonhawk melee weapon (Mid-season event)
Season 1 also includes a few new weapon attachments to unlock through the season.
Limited-time events
For events, Season 1 starts with the Wager Match limited-time event. This is available across all modes, and players can earn camos and other cosmetic rewards. Other MW4 events will become available later in the season.
More multiplayer maps and modes
Canyon new MP map
The following three maps will arrive at launch:
Backstab - Brand-new 6v6 core map
Canyon - Brand-new 6v6 core mapĀ
Shoot House - (Reimagined) 6v6 core map
Additional maps will arrive with Call of Duty's midseason update, including a variant of Modern Warfare 4's Kill Block Gunfight map that will also be used in core multiplayer modes.
For game modes, there are a few returning modes from previous Modern Warfare games. This includes Grind, where players must collect dog tags from fallen enemies and deposit them into one of two bank zones on the map. Dropzone requires teams to capture a rotating objective, and killstreak care packages are periodically dropped onto the map.
New DMZ content
DMZ's X01 map
The DMZ extraction mode is getting an additional map called X01, which is a smaller map similar to Building 21 from the DMZ beta. This map will provide players with new DMZ Orders, special Lieutenant Hunts, new enemy types, exclusive loot, and more.
More FOB upgrades will be available in Season 1, including a "classified" 3D printer upgrade, seasonal updates to the boss board, and access to Call of Duty's in-game shop.
There will also be limited-time events for all DMZ players during Season 1.
Warzone integration
Season 1 integrates Modern Warfare 4 content into battle royale, meaning Black Ops 7's movement is gone alone with some of the old maps. DMZ's Hajin will be Warzone's large standard battle royale map, while Zodiac arrives as the smaller Resurgence map. Activision's Season 1 roadmap didn't include any further details on what content will be added or removed for Warzone.

Title: Modern Warfare 4ās Multiplayer Is the Best Call of Duty Has Been in 7 Years
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 18:00:18 GMT
Link: https://www.polygon.com/mw4-modern-warfare-4-multiplayer-review/
After two years of back-to-back Black Ops games, Modern Warfare 4was always going to feel like a breath of fresh air. Even though the differences between the two series are subtle, the minor tweaks to movement, gunplay, and aesthetic are always noticeable to anyone who plays year in, year out. And I've always been a Modern Warfare kid at heart, from way back in 2007, when I lived and breathed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for a year straight. The last Call of Duty that truly captivated me was 2019's Modern Warfare.

Link: https://www.polygon.com/discord-google-reddit-search-messages-how-opt-turn-off/
The best and worst thing about Discord is that messages sent on its chat servers are ephemeral. On the one hand, it's nice to know that things said in a casual setting won't necessarily be plastered on the internet forever. On the other hand, Discord's temporality is frustrating when you need to find a critical piece of information. These defining characteristics for Discord are about to change ā and the repercussions will be visible throughout the entire internet.

Title: Cloud Deployment Incoming: āCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 4ā Arrives on GeForce NOW
Date: Thu, 22 Oct 2026 13:00:20 +0000
Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4/
Lock in and load out this GFN Thursday. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arrives on GeForce NOW at launch, bringing a new campaign, multiplayer action and DMZ, high-stakes extraction mode to supported devices. The campaign also gets an enhanced look: GeForce RTX 5080-class performance arrives for Ultimate members, bringing support for ray-tracing features in the cloud.
Thereās a new way to join the cloud, too: Existing supported Fire TV Stick users can now purchase one-month Performance or Ultimate memberships directly through Amazon, making it easier to sign up and start streaming on the big screen.
Plus, Square Enixās FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE brings cinematic pixel art and strategic battles to the cloud, and The Elder Scrolls Onlineās Echoes of Skyrim Season adds the entire Greymoor Chapter free for all ESO Standard Edition owners.
Itās all part of six games joining the GeForce NOW library this week.
Deployment Without the Downloads
Squad up and answer the call on the cloud.
Activision and Infinity Wardās Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches today on GeForce NOW. Members can drop into the trenches in Korea, close-quarter combat in New York, high-octane chases through Paris, night raids in Mumbai and city-wide engagements to reclaim occupied territory.
Fight as Private Park, a young South Korean soldier facing live combat for the first time alongside his squad as a routine patrol turns into a desperate fight for survival. Beyond the front lines, operator-turned-outlaw Captain Price is operating outside the system he once served, pursuing revenge through covert missions as the conflict spreads.
Multiplayer pairs precise combat with fluid movement, a dozen core 6v6 maps from around the world and battlegrounds that are shaped by the campaignās global conflict. The DMZ extraction mode sends players into contested territory to recover valuable technology, weigh objectives and decide when to get out. Loot, fight, negotiate, betray and extract ā itās all fair in the cloud and battleground.
Ultimate members can now experience the campaign with ray tracing, powered by newly added GeForce RTX 5080-class performance across PCs, Macs, handhelds, mobile devices, browsers, supported TVs and more. With game downloads and installs handled by GeForce NOW, members can spend less time preparing a local rig and more time preparing the next loadout.
A New Way to Play
A new way to join GeForce NOW on Fire TV.
GeForce NOW in-app purchase is rolling out to existing supported Fire TV Stick users, making it possible to purchase a membership directly through Amazon using an existing account. Transactions are processed through Amazonās billing system, creating a more seamless path from setup to gameplay.
GeForce NOW transforms Fire TV into a powerful PC gaming rig in the cloud. Members can stream supported PC games they already own or purchase new titles from digital stores including Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, Xbox PC Game Pass, GOG and EA.
The library includes thousands of ready-to-play games, including many of the worldās most-played titles and more than 100 free-to-play games. No downloads, installs, patches or updates stand between a new game and playtime. An Amazon Fire TV Stick, the GeForce NOW app and an Ultimate membership are all it takes to level up the living room with GeForce RTX 5080-powered gaming.
A Pixel-Perfect Fantasy
Classic roots. A new adventure.
Square Enixās FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches today on GeForce NOW, bringing the seriesā classic roots into a cinematic pixel-art world.
Travel with companions bound by fate and uncover the truth behind a force threatening to bring everything to ruin. Strengthen the party with Visions of beloved FINAL FANTASY characters, each bringing unique skills and abilities to battle. Dynamic camera angles and pixelized 3D models give familiar fantasy a fresh perspective.
Exploit enemy weaknesses to stagger foes, break their defenses and seize extra turns before finishing the bonus phase with powerful Resonance attacks. Airships, crystals, espers and moogles bring familiar series favorites to a world filled with secrets to discover.
GeForce NOW handles the gameās downloads and storage in the cloud, leaving more space on supported devices for everyday essentials. Save the inventory management for potions and Phoenix Downs.
Step Into a New Season in Tamriel
Familiar lands. Fresh reasons to return.
The Elder Scrolls Onlineās second season, Echoes of Skyrim, launched Wednesday, Oct. 21, free for all ESO players and ready to stream through GeForce NOW.
Season Two gives everyone who owns ESO Standard Edition access to its Skyrim content and the Antiquities treasure-hunting system. The Markarth downloadable content follows Monday, Nov. 9, rounding out the additions with two classic zones to explore.Ā
The Season also introduces Solo Dungeons, reimagining challenges previously designed for groups. Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices have been redesigned and rebalanced for players ready to tackle their dangers alone. Earn new rewards and take on new challenges at your own pace without needing to find a group.
A new Tamriel Tome also launched Oct. 21, offering both free and premium battle pass reward tracks.Ā
In addition, members can look for the following titles joining the GeForce NOW library this week:
We Were Here Tomorrow (New release on Steam, Oct. 20)
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE (New release on Steam, Oct. 22)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (New release on Oct 23, available in the Call of Duty app)
CONTROL Resonant (Epic Game Store)
Crimson Desert (Epic Games Store)
Planet Zoo 2 (Xbox app, supports XBOX Play Anywhere)
Dates listed above reflect when games are released on their respective stores. GeForce NOW availability may vary, as games are onboarded after release and added throughout the week. Keep an eye on GeForce NOW channels and GFN Thursdays for availability updates on announced titles.
Gamers who want to test out high-performance GeForce NOW cloud gaming can start with a day pass to try premium cloud gaming before committing to a membership. Better yet, the cost of the day pass can be applied toward a first monthly membership ā making it easy to try GeForce RTX-powered cloud gaming with the latest releases, then level up for more.

With 10 new games joining the cloud this week, members can put the new controls to work in supported titles and keep playing across supported devices without downloads, installs or expensive hardware upgrades.

More control, more cloud power.
NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 controls are now available on GeForce NOW, giving members more choice over how supported games look and perform in the cloud, even without the latest hardware. DLSS Super Resolution sharpens image quality, while Dynamic Multi Frame Generation delivers lower latency and reduces stutter for smoother streaming, and Ray Reconstruction enhances ray-traced visuals. In addition, Ultimate members streaming on GeForce RTX 5080-powered cloud rigs benefit from the maximum available options, including Dynamic Multi Frame Generation up to 4X.Ā Ā
From James Bondās globe-trotting missions in 007 First Light ā now with path tracing support ā to CONTROL Resonantās reality-bending Manhattan and the shadowy scares of Resident Evil Requiem, the controls help fine-tune supported games for image quality, responsiveness or a preferred balance between the two.
These new settings are available in the GeForce NOW app under settings, for Windows, macOS, Chrome OS and Steam OS platforms. Members can read here for more details on using the feature with their membership tier, and more information on how to get the smoothest cloud game streaming for some games on GeForce NOW.
Rise, Flameborn
Enshrouded 1.0 brings the co-op survival action role-playing game out of early access and into its full release. Rise as a Flameborn, the last ember of hope of a dying race, and venture into a vast world of survival, action and role-playing, where a corrupting fog has consumed a once-beautiful kingdom.

The Prism Collection brings a fresh new look to the PS5 console and DualSense controllers. To share more about our creative process behind the new design, here are insights from Leo Cardoso and Satoshi Aoyagi from our Color, Material, and Finish design team.
“We know how much our fans have been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers. We wanted to bring back the iconic see-through trend of the late ’90s in a fresh, modern way that complements the PS5’s industrial design.ā
– Leo Cardoso
āThe high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, offering a look at the technology that powers the DualSense controller while maintaining a sleek, monochromatic look.
The metallic finish on the middle cover brings the contrasting surfaces together for a premium appearance that feels consistent with the PS5 generation.
To complement the futuristic aesthetic, we carefully selected three distinct colors: a vibrant orange that subtly takes on a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps, a deep hunter green that gains depth through its transparency, and a cool-toned storm gray.ā
– Satoshi Aoyagi

Title: Suit up as Astro Bot in Rayman Legends Retold
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 13:01:45 +0000
Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/10/28/suit-up-as-astro-bot-in-rayman-legends-retold/
Rayman Legends Retold is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on December 3, and Astro Botās iconic design is featured in the game as an exclusive costume, bringing the iconic platformer pairing full circle after Rayman made a cameo in Astro Bot (2024).
The PS5-exclusive Astro Bot costume in Rayman Legends Retold will be available for free on playersā first visit to Victor Velour, the gameās resident tailor, at his costume shop. The outfit is once again a collaboration between Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier, and Team Asobi. We sat down with Guillaume Arvieu, Art and World Director on Rayman Legends Retold, and Quentin Chaillet, Lead Character Artist, to discuss the collaboration, how the costume was created, and the DNA shared by two platforming icons.
Play Video
Talk us through the Astro Bot skin design in Rayman Legends Retold – how did you approach capturing the essence of Astro Bot within your own art style?
Chaillet: One of the biggest challenges was bringing Astro Bot’s sleek, futuristic aesthetic into Rayman’s universe. Rayman’s designs traditionally have a more handcrafted, organic feel, so introducing these glossy surfaces, metallic details, and high-tech materials was something quite different from what we’re used to.
We wanted to stay as faithful as possible to Astro Bot’s iconic design while making sure it still felt authentically Rayman. That meant carefully adapting the shapes and proportions, especially his large nose, no arms / legs, and his big shoes, which are such recognizable parts of Rayman’s silhouette.
The goal was to incorporate as many of Astro Bot’s signature details as possible, from the reflective metallic parts and glowing blue elements to the smooth white surfaces, without losing Rayman’s personality or expressiveness.
It was a really interesting exercise in finding the right balance between two very different visual identities and making them feel like they naturally belong together.
In your own words, what DNA do Astro Bot and Rayman share?āÆ
Arvieu: Astro Bot has truly established itself as a major player in the platforming genre, with an identity of its own.
What I particularly appreciate is how generous the game is: the richness of its worlds, the creativity of its scenarios, and the constant joy of discovering new gameplay ideas.
This is something we also find in Rayman. Both games offer incredibly rich fantasy worlds, filled with diverse biomes that invite players to explore, discover, and experience a sense of wonder. They also place great importance on fluid movement, a variety of interactions, and the joy of mastering the possibilities available to the player.
Beyond these similarities, I think our two franchises share, above all, the same spirit. Theyāre both colorful, creative games that are full of surprises and driven by positive values. They aim to evoke emotions, make people smile, and rekindle that almost instinctive sense of joy we feel when discovering a platformer bursting with ideas.
These are games that make you feel good. They remind us that video games can be a wonderful source of joy, wonder, and shared experiences, whatever our age.
Why do you think collaborations like this are important?
Arvieu: Since the early days of video games, creators have been inspiring one another.
An idea, a gameplay mechanic, a character, or an artistic approach can spark new ideas and open up unexpected possibilities. Itās an ongoing exchange that fuels our collective creativity.
Collaborations like this make that exchange tangible. They allow us to celebrate the work of other teams, bring together worlds that are close to our hearts, and create moments players might never have imagined otherwise.
Itās a virtuous circle: everyone brings their own perspective, ideas, and expertise to the table, and we all grow from the experience. Ultimately, itās the players who benefit, discovering new encounters and sharing in the joy of seeing their favorite characters come together.
Rayman has a long history behind him and holds a special place in the hearts of many players, particularly those who first discovered him on the original PlayStation. Astro Bot, meanwhile, celebrates this legacy while establishing its own identity with a new generation of players. Seeing these two worlds come together is therefore also a way of bringing different generations of players together.
Itās a little nod to the history of video games, but also a wonderful illustration of the mediumās ability to reinvent itself and continue to surprise us.
Rayman Legends Retold is coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro December 3, 2026. Embark on a bold reimagining of the beloved platformer, with new visuals and a retold story. Play solo or up to 4player couch coop, explore a mysterious new realm, jam through new musical stages, and more.

Title: Cyberpunk trading sim Probably Stolen is about running a kiosk in a space station full of gangs, megacorps, and secret rogue cyborgs

I have so far not been shivved, shanked, brain fried, hazed, wasted, ironed, short-circed, flat-lined or even complained at in Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
In this neuromantic kiosk game from Questing Goose Studio, you're a new store owner aboard a backwater space station. Each day, you roll up the shutter and do business with a procession of shady types, ranging from janitors with unappetising beards to sexy cowled folk with Main Character tattoos. The basics are simple enough, for all the overwhelmingly menu-led presentation: buy what you can afford, according to your instinct for the wider market, sell what you can fit into the customer's budget. But things quickly get complicated. Read more

Title: "We are more concerned about the risks of moving too slowly": Epic get more specific about genAI use in Unreal Engine and Fortnite development

Epic Games are, dunno if you've heard, on a bit of a genAI kick at the moment. It's been tough to notice unless you listen very hard. Tim Sweeney's lips have been sealed and no reports have spewed forth.
Sark aside, to this point Epic have had far more provocative soundbites and weird marketing lingo to offer than specific detail about how they're using genAI in different parts of their business.

Title: Subnautica 2 dev thinks early access teams should worry less about adding features that are "very ugly, incomplete, or prototype"

Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/subnautica-2-dev-thinks-early-access-teams-should-worry-less-about-adding-features-that-are-very-ugly-incomplete-or-prototype
Subnautica 2 creative director Anthony Gallegos has spoken about what Unknown Worlds have learned over their many years working in Steam early access, exhorting other devs to add new features "as soon as possible" and experiment with them right under the flared nostrils of players. Damn the torpedoes, etcetera.
The original Subnautica is one of the oldest Steam early access success stories, launching in 2014 a month or so after the program went live. Many of the final version's better qualities, including the pivot to horror epitomised by the spectacle of a Reaper grabbing your submarine's face, reflect observation of players and streamers in the wilds. Title: Hot Wax sets fire to the Tetris playbook with slow-burn puzzle mechanics and a dollop of eldritch menace
Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 13:30:00 +0000
Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/hot-wax-sets-fire-to-the-tetris-playbook-with-slow-burn-puzzle-mechanics-and-a-dollop-of-eldritch-menace
Over the past couple of weeks, I've been conscious of an eerie background humming and hissing. For a while I thought it was just tinnitus, brought on by one too many listens of Control's Ashtray Maze OST, but then I realised that it was actually RPS regular quasiotter whispering in my ear about Hot Wax, which launches on Steam this week after a spell of Itch.io exclusivity.
It's the new arcade puzzler from PUNKCAKE Délicieux, otherwise known for inflicting shotguns on chess and forcing the alphabet to wear trousers in the name of archaeology, somehow. Hot Wax is actually quite straightforward by PUNKCAKE standards. It's Tetris, but all the blocks are candles, and rather than filling a line on the grid to clear blocks, you have to plant unpredictably dropped flames on wicks to slowly sizzle the mass away. Relatively straightforward, yes, but fiddly in practice. Did I mention that you're doing all this in a temple, under the eye of a "not unfriendly" eldritch god? Read more
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology is an innovative system that allows electric vehicles (EVs) to not only consume electricity but also feed energy back into the grid when needed. This revolutionary concept is gaining traction in countries around the world, including Honduras, where it has the potential to create new job opportunities and boost the renewable energy sector.
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology in Hamburg is revolutionizing the way we think about electric vehicles and their impact on the grid. This innovative technology allows electric vehicles to not only consume electricity from the grid but also to send power back to the grid when needed. In a city like Hamburg, where the adoption of electric vehicles is increasing, V2G technology could play a significant role in balancing the grid and integrating renewable energy sources.
Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology is a concept that allows electric vehicles (EVs) to communicate with the power grid, enabling them to not only consume electricity but also to supply excess energy back to the grid. This innovative technology opens up a world of possibilities for more efficient energy management and sustainable living. However, like any technological advancement, V2G technology is not immune to potential hacks and vulnerabilities.
