The anticipated sequel in the open-world driving game series doesn’t officially launch until May 19, but owners of its most expensive version - the Premium Edition - can play it right now. Read more

Title: Ignore Your Growing Backlog–It’s Time To Play South Of Midnight On Steam
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 17:22:14 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ignore-your-growing-backlog-its-time-to-play-south-of-midnight-on-steam/
Look, it's no surprise to anyone for me to admit that I like South of Midnight. I've written about it being a love letter to the American Deep South, noted how it was one of the best Xbox games of 2025, and talked about how much the game's story, characters, and setting have meant to me on video podcasts for both GameSpot and IGN. I want everyone to play this game, and there's never been a better time to do so on Steam.
As noticed by Respec, Xbox is no longer listed as the publisher for South of Midnight on Steam. Instead, the game is noted as being self-published by Compulsion Games, reflecting the studio's independence following another round of severe layoffs and restructuring from Xbox.
While Compulsion Games hasn't confirmed whether this is the case--who knows what type of strange and awful backroom clauses might be in place to ensure Xbox keeps getting a slice of this particular pie--this does seem to indicate that all future sales of South of Midnight on Steam will benefit Compulsion, not Compulsion and Xbox.
So if you want to play South of Midnight, but you were concerned about continuing to line Xbox's pockets, this seems like the golden opportunity to finally give the action-adventure platformer a go.
And you should play it! The game is so good! South of Midnight's selling point is certainly its atmosphere. The sound design and orchestral score are tied into the gameplay and story to put you right into the midst of its gothic fantasy, transforming the trauma of a resilient and multifaceted culture into the backbone of one of the most affecting video games I've ever played. Its combat and platforming aren't exactly wow-worthy, leaning on tried-and-true PlayStation 2-era mechanics without pushing them forward in any meaningful way, but those shortcomings are overshadowed by memorable characters, catchy tunes, and incredible visuals.
Like I said in my South of Midnight review, "Compulsion Games hasn’t made a direct sequel to any of its games yet, but it needs to make an exception here." South of Midnight is just that great. Compulsion Games has a real winner here, and you should support the studio by buying and playing South of Midnight, and then joining me in celebrating this gaming accomplishment.
Title: CoD: Black Ops 7 And Warzone Season 5 Reloaded Release Date And Details
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 17:00:00 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/cod-black-ops-7-and-warzone-season-5-reloaded-release-date-and-details/
Season 5 Reloaded arrives in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone later this month, and Activision has now revealed all of the details for this midseason update. Season 5 Reloaded adds a new weapon, additional multiplayer maps, and the final round-based Zombies map of the Black Ops 7 storyline.
Call of Duty Season 5 Reloaded start times
The Season 5 Reloaded update for Black Ops 7 and Warzone arrives on August 20. Call of Duty updates typically go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms.
This midseason update arrives only one day before the first Modern Warfare 4 beta begins. For those interested in trying this year's upcoming Call of Duty, the full MW4 beta dates and details can be found here.
New events and DLC weapon
New Descent Freerun map
As to be expected, Call of Duty has new events lined up for the big update. The season kicks off with the Last Call event, which is celebrating the arrival of the final round-based Zombies map in Black Ops 7. While this is a Zombies-themed event, players can earn rewards across all modes: Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and Endgame.
Last Call includes both paid and free event tracks. The free track includes operator skins for Zaveri and Vermaak, while the paid pass has skins for the Zombies characters Nikolai and Richtofen. Call of Duty's paid event passes typically cost $10.
The Freerun: Descent Challenge is a multiplayer-only event focused on the season's new Freerun map. A variety of camos, calling cards, and other cosmetic rewards can be earned by participating in matches on Descent.
The Season 5 Reloaded update also adds the Mace melee weapon as the final DLC weapon for the season. Two new gun attachments will also be included as weekly challenge rewards.
Multiplayer maps and LTMs
Turbo Tilt MP map
Two new multiplayer maps are included in Season 5 Reloaded: Turbo Tilt and Descent.
Turbo Tilt is a brand-new small map for 2v2 and 6v6 modes. This map shrinks players down to fit inside a Nuketown-themed pinball machine. The map features a deadly moving pinball, and there are points-of-interest inside the machine that players will recognize from the classic Nuketown map.
Descent is a brand-new map for the parkour-based Freerun mode. This new parkour course features seven zones with multiple checkpoints.
As for new game modes, Call of Duty's Cranked makes its Black Ops 7 debut. This is the fast-paced mode with the "Cranked" timer, where players must keep chaining kills together to refill their timer and avoid exploding. Cranked will be featured as a moshpit playlist, which includes Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, and Demolition.
Final Zombies map and perk
Rex Infernus Zombies map
Black Ops 7's Zombies storyline concludes with the brand-new Rex Infernus map. This map suggests an arachnid theme with a new enemy type called the Deathspinner and an elite enemy called the Web Mother. The Web Mother's webbing can damage and slow players, while they also cocoon zombies to transform them into environmental hazards.
Rex Infernus will feature a main story quest, which will go live with the start of Season 5 Reloaded. The map also marks the return of the popular Widow's Wine perk from Black Ops 3. Widow's Wine triggers an explosion of webs that can activate when a player's health is reduced to a certain point by melee attacks.
Endgame content
Season 5 launched with a new assignment called Burn Run, which challenges players to a race in a bomb-rigged vehicle. This assignment will continue to appear in Avalon for the remainder of Season 5.
Treyarch did reveal Endgame will only be free-to-play until the end of the season. At the start of Season 6, Endgame will no longer be accessible via the Warzone menu and will then only be available to Black Ops 7 owners.
Warzone
Special Delivery Drones in Warzone
Warzone's Loaded Resurgence mode will be featured as a weekend limited-time mode. Loaded Resurgence lets players drop in with their custom guns, and perks are earned by racking up eliminations. The mode will be played on a rotation of Rebirth Island, Haven's Hollow, and Fortune's Keep.
The update will also add Special Delivery Drones. These drones will fly across Verdansk and Avalon in battle royale and BR casual modes. Shooting down the Special Delivery Drones will give players the chance to earn new weapon camos.
Title: Wild Blue Skies Is Star Fox For Experts
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 17:00:00 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/wild-blue-skies-is-star-fox-for-experts/
The "fine, I'll just do it myself" approach has served indie developers well, capitalizing on the hunger for games that emulate beloved classics. Indie metroidvania games, boomer shooters, and retro-style platformers all owe their rise to the same trend of homage for underserved genres. Wild Blue Skies isn't the first game that aims to fill a Star Fox-shaped hole in gamers' hearts, but it is the one that feels most like pure homage. It could practically be an expansion.
Wild Blue Skies follows the formula set by Star Fox 64 incredibly closely, down to even specific details like including alternate paths through the map, all-range mode stages, and a rival company of evil pilots who hound you throughout the story campaign. The very first alternate path is revealed by one of your copilots challenging you to follow them around tricky obstacles, just like Falco in SF64. Even the world map forms a similarly tilted oblong oval with stages jutting out from the easy, medium, and hard paths. The stage design reflects the classic Star Fox sensibility impeccably well, as a fast-paced rail shooter with swarms of enemies and tight spaces to maneuver around and through.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdRggRKhNMk
Stop me if you've heard this one: A group of hotshot anthropomorphic animal pilots thwarted the evil plans of a megalomaniacal scientist, who then went into hiding for years. Then suddenly the scientist reemerges, declaring war on the peaceful society, and it's up to a new generation of the pilots to stop him. This time, your fighter crew is called the Blue Bombers (no relation), headed by a German shepherd named Bowie, who fights alongside Roe (a deer), Chuck (a bull), and Thorne (a frilled lizard). The evil villain is called Grimclaw, and your own army leader is a toad, I think, named General Harding. It's all very familiar.
There are a few key differences, though. Wild Blue Skies takes place on one world, not a series of planets, and so your ships are built to look more like fighter jets than spaceships. Moving through the map takes you across a series of different biomes, so functionally exploring a cold area of the map is similar to exploring an ice planet, but it does feel nicely cohesive here. And even though you aren't actually in a starship, there are moments when your fighter jets make clever use of the space, like in a canyon stage where you pull up hard and fly vertically up a waterfall while dodging boulders falling from the cliffside.
Wild Blue Skies
Other differences are less superficial. Your regular fire and charged shot are mapped to two separate buttons, as compared to Star Fox using just one, which is an adjustment I found actually worked really well once I got used to it. The control change required a little more split-second planning to decide when I wanted to use one fire mode versus the other, instead of just holding down the charge shot, but it also made a cleaner division of those responsibilities and less accidental charging. I also turned on the auto-fire from the settings menu so that my regular fire rate was a continuous stream, to differentiate it from the more deliberate charged shot.
Similarly, the brake and dash functions are mapped to the trigger buttons, giving them a feeling more akin to a racing game's brake and acceleration. The change feels a little more natural than mapping these controls to face buttons by default in Star Fox, and allows for a little more fine control to adjust your speed while you're also firing your weapons.
Like Star Fox, each stage has a number of medals to collect, on top of your regular score multipliers. These stages are meant to be plumbed repeatedly and extensively, as in the game that inspired them, so there are lots of secrets to find and score challenges to unlock for expert pilots.
And that brings me to one last major distinction. Wild Blue Skies is hard. In a year without a remake of Star Fox 64, I would have assumed I had simply lost my touch, but having recently played Nintendo's title, I feel confident this isn't a skill issue. Instead, Wild Blue Skies is like Star Fox got juiced up to hard mode. Even trailing Thorne to open the first alternate path in the first stage took me several tries. The maneuver takes you through a series of waterfalls, and hitting the exact points where you can pass through, without bumping into the nearby rocks, was difficult to do without very precise maneuvers that took practice.
Wild Blue Skies
Your allies are also extremely vulnerable and will fall to enemy fire quickly, so it takes a few times through a stage to know exactly when they'll need bailing out. The all-range mode stages would almost always result in at least one or two of my wingmen going out for the following stage.
This year's Star Fox was a treat for longtime fans looking for a nostalgic fix, but it was a remake through and through. For veterans, all of the old skills translated and the map layouts were identical. If that game left you wanting new maps to memorize and an even tougher challenge, Wild Blue Skies is it. This is about as close to a Star Fox 64 expansion as it's possible to get, with a few smart tweaks to help finesse the expert-level difficulty. It's a very straightforward homage, but in this case, that's to its credit.

Want to know when the next Genshin Impact update is? Sticking with a regular six-week schedule, we rarely need to wait for the next livestream to know when a new version is releasing. Livestreams give us more than just a release date though, as they're also a great source of official banner and event information.
Each new update for Genshin Impact brings new banners to pull on, events to take part in, and there's usually a main storyline or character quest to sink hours of our time into as well. Not to mention all the updates we get for Miliastra Wonderland, Genius Invokation TCG, and more. The current update is version 7.0, the next will be version 7.1, and this page explains everything we know about both the current and next updates in Genshin Impact.

When is the next Genshin Impact update?
The next Genshin Impact update will be on Wednesday, September 23 if it sticks with the usual six-week update schedule. This will be version 7.1. Although this date is technically guesswork for now, it's highly likely Genshin will update on this day, as not much gets in the way of its regular updates. However, for official confirmation, we'll just have to wait until the version 7.1 livestream.
When is the next Genshin Impact livestream?
The next Genshin Impact livestream should be on Friday, September 11 if the usual six-week schedule is maintained. This will be the livestream detailing all of the banners and events for version 7.1. Although it’s likely Genshin will stick to this date, livestreams are more prone to delays than proper updates, with things like national Chinese holidays or sensitive dates pushing the stream back to Sundays, or even the next Friday in some cases.
We should officially know by Tuesday, September 8 what date and time the version 7.1 livestream will air.
Genshin Impact 7.0 banners
In Phase 1 of version 7.0, the Genshin Impact banners are Odette and Arlecchino, who run from August 12 to September 1. New character Alyosha is one of the boosted four-star characters on both their banners.
All of the boosted four-star characters on Odette and Arlecchino's banners are:
Alyosha
Sucrose
Lynette
Then in Phase 2 of version 7.0, the Genshin Impact banners are reruns of Flins and Ineffa, running from September 1 to September 22 (dates TBC).
Genshin Impact 7.0 events
As well as the Overflowing Abundance double-drop period (September 14 - 21), there are three events in version 7.0 of Genshin Impact.
Mutual Aid in Bloom: Into the Frostlands

Excess statue parts can be put in a storage device to share with other players. Rewards include Primogems and level-up materials, with the event running from August 12 to 24.
Great Expeditionist Challenge
A tournament hosted by the Adventurers' Guild in Snezhnaya. It involves challenges such as piloting trains through Snezhnaya's tumultuous weather, putting your new guns to use with target practice, puzzles, mini-games, and regular combat domains.
As well as the usual rewards like Primogems and Crowns of Insight, Great Expeditionist Challenge rewards a free copy of Diona, with the event running from August 28 to September 14.

Title: Marvel’s Wolverine Has You Hunting For Resources, Drinking Whiskey, And Beating Up Nightmares
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 16:05:40 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/marvels-wolverine-has-you-hunting-for-resources-drinking-whiskey-and-beating-up-nightmares/
Unlike its work on the Spider-Man games, Insomniac won't be throwing players into an open-world environment with Marvel's Wolverine. It's an old-school single-player game that focuses on pushing the story from Point A to Point B, but that doesn't mean that you can't take a detour or two. This will allow players to spend some extra time with Logan, as Insomniac says that players can hunt down resources for new suits and take part in combat trials that'll test their skills.
"It is a story-driven adventure," senior project director Jess Reiner-Reed said to IGN. "Logan is pulled through uncovering these mysteries of his past. But you can go off the beaten path."
Logan is known for enjoying his hard liquor, and as you'd expect, you can grab bottles of whiskey hidden away in stages. Collecting these will help Wolverine power up, while material crates hold raw materials that can be used to acquire new suits--similar to Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Fun fact: Logan's healing factor allows him to knock back an incredible amount of alcohol and not stay drunk, due to his regenerative abilities burning through those toxins almost instantly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i247qa_YL_A&pp=0gcJCfkLAYcqIYzv
The other activity, Nightmare Doors, will take players into Logan's psyche. Described as "manifestations of the horrible things" in his head, each Nightmare Door offers its own unique trials for Logan to overcome, and again, this sounds vaguely similar to the Mysterio challenges in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Finally, players who roll credits on Marvel's Wolverine can replay the game in New Game Plus, bringing their entire loadout and progression with them.
Insomniac says that "some fun things" happen here, and there'll be sections that are either more challenging or allow Logan to really cut loose with all of his upgrades. "It’s undeniable that Insomniac’s take on Logan is firmly planted in familiar game design, but Wolverine is clearly doing more than just fitting a typical story of the character in it," managing editor Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot's Wolverine preview.
The game launches soon for PS5, on September 15. To celebrate the release, Sony has also announced a limited-edition Marvel's Wolverine PS5 bundle, console covers, and a new DualSense controller inspired by the game.

Attack on Titan may have finished its run in 2023, but it seems like more pain and suffering may be on the horizon. WIT Studio revealed that it has an Attack on Titan-related announcement coming on Aug. 20. The company's cryptic post reads, “It seems that they, during ‘that period,’ will be holding a special dinner.” This message was posted with a promotional image featuring Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Levi, Hange, and Erwin. The accompanying visual is attributed to Isayama Hajime, the manga's author; Kodansha, the manga’s publisher; and the Attack on Titan The Final Season Production Committee, the group that funded the anime’s 35-episode “final season” (which was actually two seasons and two specials).

You need to scan a resource that, depending on how much exploring you've done, you might not even know exists. You'll also need a new processing station.

A disappointing box-office run or subpar reviews doesn’t necessarily mean a movie is finished. Streaming platforms have become an increasingly reliable place for films to find the audience they missed the first time around. Liam Neeson’s 2024 crime thriller In the Land of Saints and Sinners, for example, recently surged into Netflix’s top 10 two years after its theatrical release. And Netflix’s The Last Houseshot to No. 1 worldwide despite a miserable 27% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, one of this summer’s biggest box-office disappointments has pulled off a similar trick on Prime Video.

Title: Best in Class: Stream PC Games and Study on the Same Laptop With GeForce NOW
Date: Thu, 30 Jul 2026 13:00:20 +0000
Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-back-to-school-2026/
Back to school means balancing assignments, deadlines and downtime. GeForce NOW makes it easy to have it all.
With cloud gaming, everyday laptops used for class can also become GeForce RTX-powered gaming setups.
When it’s time to switch from studying to gaming, members can jump into Halo: Campaign Evolved, as GeForce NOW is bringing one of the gaming world’s most celebrated titles to nearly any device through the cloud, alongside eight total games joining the GeForce NOW library this week.
From A+ to AAA Gaming
This back-to-school season, the easiest upgrade isn’t replacing laptops in backpacks. It’s unlocking even more from these same laptops, from creating to gaming.
With a GeForce NOW membership, Chromebooks, Macs and Surface devices can become GeForce RTX-powered gaming PCs in the cloud. The GeForce NOW library features thousands of supported PC games, letting members stream titles they already own from digital stores like Steam, Xbox PC Game Pass and Epic Games Store in just a few clicks.
The cloud keeps games up to date and ready to play, making it easy to jump into a match between classes, after homework or whenever there’s free time. Time spent waiting on downloads, patches and installs becomes time spent in game instead.
The Ultimate membership enables best-in-class experiences by delivering 5080-class performance in the cloud with NVIDIA DLSS, ray tracing and NVIDIA Reflex technologies for responsive, visually rich gameplay — all on the hardware gamers already own.
A creator known as “Menguiny” recently put this to the test after picking up a MacBook Neo. GeForce NOW turned the laptop — usually the creator’s go-to for editing videos and everyday work — into a top-notch gaming machine, too.
Another creator, “TechWithSeong” highlighted that same versatility GeForce NOW offers. Rather than juggling separate devices for work and gaming, he used GeForce NOW Ultimate to stream supported PC games across the devices he already owns — from a MacBook used for editing to gaming on the go with handheld devices.
Gamers can start with a day pass and experience all the premium benefits without a monthly commitment. Plus, the cost of a day pass can be applied toward a first membership purchase — it’s like earning a little extra credit along the way.
Everyone, at Their Stations
Needlers never looked so sharp.
Experience the Master Chief’s iconic journey on GeForce NOW in Halo: Campaign Evolved — a modernized remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign — rebuilt with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics and refined gameplay. Whether discovering Halo for the first time or returning after 25 years to finish the fight, it’s as the Master Chief says: “We’re just getting started.”
Crash-land on the mysterious ringworld alongside Cortana and uncover great secrets while battling overwhelming Covenant forces. Fight through the rebuilt campaign, then continue the adventure with three brand-new missions featuring the Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson. Expanded weapons, iconic vehicles, hijackable Wraith tanks and optional Skull modifiers offer even more ways to play.
Suit up across PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, handhelds, mobile devices, TVs and more with GeForce NOW Ultimate, powered by GeForce RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud. Experience Halo with NVIDIA DLSS, ray tracing and NVIDIA Reflex technologies delivering higher frame rates and ultralow latency that keep every firefight feeling responsive and worthy of a Spartan.
From solo gaming to online co-op modes, GeForce NOW cloud saves let members log in and pick up exactly where they left off across supported devices — no lengthy downloads, extra storage space or expensive hardware upgrades required. The only thing left to carry is the mission.

Lock in and load up the cloud. GFN Thursday brings fresh updates and new adventures, all ready to play without waiting for downloads.
Set sail in Path of Exile: Curse of the Allflame and charge in Battlefield 6 Season 4 both launching major content for members this week.
Then revisit Capcom legends like Breath of Fire IV, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, jump into Halo: Campaign Evolved Advanced Access and discover nine titles arriving on GeForce NOW.
The Curse Calls
Prepare to brave the unforgiving waters of Wraeclast. Path of Exile: Curse of the Allflame launches Friday, July 24, sending Exiles into the perilous Frozen Seas.
Guided by formidable corsair captain Valerie and her cursed navigator Vesper, gamers must piece together scattered treasure charts, board the legendary vessel — the Sovereign — and chart a course into the abyss. Descend into the depths using Allflame Lanterns to uncover valuable relics while surviving the dangers lurking beneath the waves.
The update introduces sweeping changes, including a complete rework of sockets and links. The Scion also gains the all-new Luminary Ascendancy, the Mercenaries of Trarthus return alongside mysterious Atlas Anomalies, and the preexisting Abyss, Legion and Talisman mechanics receive revitalized gameplay and exclusive rewards.
GeForce NOW members can dive in the moment it launches across their devices, no downloads needed. Learn more about the latest additions on the Path of Exile website.
Rise Through the Ranks
The next operation begins.
Battlefield 6 takes the fight further with Season 4, bringing new battlegrounds, expanded progression and new ways to play.
Take to the land, air and sea with the massive Tsuru Reef and the return of the fan-favorite Wake Island, coming in phase two. Both feature aircraft carriers with operational flight decks, new naval vehicles and a dynamic wave system that helps move every match. The update also introduces Custom Lobbies and Spectator Mode, delivering more ways to play.
From large-scale multiplayer battles to intense vehicle combat, GeForce NOW lets members deploy across nearly any device. Ultimate members can stream with GeForce RTX 5080-powered performance across PCs, Macs, handhelds, mobile devices, TVs and more.
Whether returning to the frontlines or enlisting for the first time, members can leap into the latest Battlefield update the moment it arrives on GeForce NOW — without waiting for patches.
Dragons and Dinosaurs — on Any Device
Classic adventures, now in the cloud.
Three iconic Capcom adventures arrive on GeForce NOW this week, ready for longtime fans to revisit and new players to discover.
Journey through the rich fantasy world of Breath of Fire IV, a role-playing game following the intertwining stories of Ryu and Fou-Lu. Master an array of skills and magic to unlock strategic victories in battle and go head to head with unique enemies using powerful Dragon Transformations.
Raw instinct takes over in Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, the survival-horror series that combines pulse-pounding action, resource management and thrilling dinosaur encounters. Pursued by a relentless prehistoric terror, players fight to survive from the facility to the world of the Cretaceous Period.
Whether reliving unforgettable moments or discovering these legendary titles for the first time, gamers on GeForce NOW can experience gaming history on supported devices like Chromebooks, Fire TV and Steam Deck — no legacy hardware required.
Spartans — Start Early
Spartans don’t have to wait. Players who prepurchase the Premium Edition of Halo: Campaign Evolved can suit up for Advanced Access before the game’s global launch on Tuesday, July 28.
Start the weekend with all the new games arriving on GeForce NOW:

Title: GeForce NOW Turns Up the Heat With New GeForce RTX 5080-Powered Toronto Server
Date: Thu, 09 Jul 2026 13:00:55 +0000
Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-toronto-expansion/
This GFN Thursday brings more games, more power and more ways to play on GeForce NOW.
The cloud gaming service is expanding with a new GeForce RTX 5080-powered server in Toronto, bringing dedicated high performance in the cloud closer to members across the region.
NTE: Neverness to Everness also gets an update in the cloud, making it even easier to jump into the latest content from the supernatural adventure without a single download or more storage space needed. It leads the way for GeForce NOW bringing native touch control to the game, coming soon.
There’s even more to explore with three new games joining the GeForce NOW library this week.
Take It to the Next Level in Toronto
The forecast is looking cloudy in Canada.
A new GeForce RTX 5080-powered GeForce NOW server is coming to Toronto, expanding service in the region and bringing dedicated cloud gaming performance closer to local members. The new server will roll out within days, giving more players access to top-tier cloud gaming across Canada.
Ultimate members can stream across PCs, Macs, handhelds, mobile devices, TVs and more with GeForce RTX 5080-class power in the cloud. Enjoy up to 4K resolution and beyond on supported ultrawide displays, up to 120 frames per second, plus NVIDIA DLSS, ray tracing and NVIDIA Reflex technologies.
Bring on the ‘999 Nights’
Reality bends — on any device.
Step into the surreal world of NTE: Neverness to Everness with the NTE Version 1.2 “999 Nights” update.
This version introduces a massive gameplay evolution, plunging players into an immersive, tabletop-inspired fantasy role-playing game on the Warren Continent — a new permanent game mode featuring its own dedicated progression system.
This narrative and mechanical expansion is elevated by the debut of two powerful characters, Shinku and Iroi, alongside an unprecedented fashion upgrade featuring a sweeping collection of 19 new character outfits.
To top it off, exploration gets a high-octane upgrade with Draco, a revolutionary new motorcycle vehicle, making this version an absolute playground for combat strategy, stylish customization and high-speed urban traversal.
Plus, GeForce NOW will soon be rolling out native touch controls to NTE: Neverness to Everness, which will make it even easier to explore the city’s mysteries from supported mobile devices.
Look for the game in the GeForce NOW app to seamlessly jump between devices and continue the adventure — no downloads, storage space or expensive additional hardware required.
Embark on Expanded Adventures
The journey continues in Granblue Fantasy: Relink with the Endless Ragnarok expansion. Known for its dynamic combat, diverse roster of Skyfarers and thrilling online co-op, Relink returns with fresh story content as mysterious beings known as the Ragnalia threaten the Zegagrande Skydom. Strange gateways, powerful new foes — including the mighty Beelzebub — and fresh challenges await across the skies.
The expansion also introduces additional ways to play, including summon abilities that add another layer of combat strategy, co-op quest tiers and a solo mode filled with unpredictable encounters. Master traits offer more opportunities to customize favorite characters, giving both longtime Skyfarers and newcomers plenty of reasons to take flight.
Jump into the latest action with the following games to play this week:
Esports Manager 2026 (New release on Steam, available July 6)
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (New release on Steam and Ubisoft Connect, available July 9)
Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok Demo (Steam)
As GeForce NOW continues to expand, so does the community discovering cloud gaming.
One new Ultimate member summed up their first impressions:
“Finally caved and got GFN Ultimate… and wow.”
Another longtime PC gamer shared how GeForce NOW completely changed their perspective after years of skepticism, calling it “a good alternative” for casual players and encouraging others to “try the one month and upgrade to the yearly before the sale ends.”

Title: Hands-on report: Marvel’s Wolverine
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 15:00:03 +0000
Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/08/13/hands-on-report-marvels-wolverine/
It’s been a big week for fans of Marvel’s Wolverine, starting with the announcement of sharp-looking PS5 hardware and accessories. Now, with just over a month away until its September 15 launch, Insomniac is sharing a deep dive on the game’s story, combat, and exploration thanks to an extensive hands-on session with the game.
Our two-hour session kicked off with the game’s opening mission in the wilds of Telambang, where Wolverine has reunited with Team X to carry out a critical mission infiltrating the facility of anti-mutant industrialist Bolivar Trask. After slicing our way to a daring rescue, we jumped ahead in the game to a bombastic boss fight and a taste of Madripoor’s Lowtown. Between brutal barrages, stealthy scouting, and a range of rage-filled takedowns, we got to cut to the bone of the game’s story, flesh out Wolverine’s allies and foes, and uncover a piece of his buried past.
Taking on Trask
From the game’s opening moments flashing back to a feral, mangy-haired, and memory-wiped Wolverine, every sequence tested the balance between his rage and humanity. The first mission reunites him with Team X, a mutant task force formed by Nathaniel Essex to help protect mutants. Wolverine had stepped away from the group, something that has rankled his teammates, a wry Mystique and ever-savage Sabretooth.
Their mission takes them from the hidden facility of billionaire Bolivar Trask to the seedy backstreets of Madripoor, presenting Wolverine with the grim reality of what mutants in this world are facing. With mutants largely unknown by society, Trask has been spending his billions abducting, studying, and cruelly disposing of mutants with little regard for his victims in a quest to maintain human superiority. As the nefarious reality of the facility’s purpose becomes clearer, the horror Wolverine feels quickly pools into an unbridled rage. That rage drives him forward through throngs of Reaver enemies and a run in with Omega Red to eventually free Essex, who has been held captive by Trask.
Essex is the one who found Wolverine years before in that feral state, and formed Team X to protect mutants and build a world where mutants can be open. Between Essex and Trask, Wolverine is faced with the lengths some will go to protect the future of their kind, and will challenge him to face what kind of person he wants to be in this future.
Sink your claws in
Between storylines and set pieces, my biggest takeaway from my time with Marvel’s Wolverine was that it feels dang good to sink those claws in. Wolverine doesn’t just attack enemies, he catapults himself at them, targeting and launching himself from across the room to stun or barrage. Every combat encounter becomes a furious flurry, where my adrenaline feels directly tied to Wolverine’s increasing rage.
While a simple parry and barrage can get the job done, Wolverine can unlock a number of Special Techniques, skills that can be upgraded and mapped to the directional buttons for an extra flair in a fight. In my playthrough, I could cleave through a group surrounding me with Tornado Spin, or interrupt enemy attacks with Knee Breaker. Players can also unlock Adaptations, which upgrade long-term effects and skills like Logan’s health and rage meter.
That rage will come in handy. Successful combos build up Wolverine’s rage meter, which rises through three Rage Tiers to dramatically alter his fighting style. As Wolverine enters Rage Tier 2, his combos become more powerful and he unlocks Last Stand, which allows him to use his rage to heal his body if fully downed. But things really go over the edge when Wolverine’s meter fills to Rage Tier 3. His attacks become significantly more powerful, while brutal critical strikes become available. His vision seems to close in, his breathing getting louder and more primal as he darts between enemies, slicing and dicing with ease. Those critical strikes can lead to some dangerously fun takedowns, like snatching a member of The Hand’s katana or bow to slam back into them.
Sometimes, Wolverine needs a more methodical approach. He can use his Enhanced Senses to track and takedown enemies more stealthily. Trask also has Ability Inhibitors at his disposal that block Wolverine and his teammates from using their abilities. In these moments, he must work past the pain and fight without healing, focusing on taking enemies down with classic combat moves and destroying the Inhibitors before it’s too late.
It took all the skills I had gathered so far to take on the looming Sentinel Prototype towards the end of my preview. Built by Trask to detect and destroy mutants, this fight took all of Wolverine’s patience and strategy, dodging or parrying the Sentinel’s powerful attacks, while waiting for the perfect moments to strike. This sequence was thrilling both to use Wolverine’s abilities to their fullest potential, and to watch as he worked in tandem with Mystique and Sabretooth. By the time I was busting through the Sentinel’s head victorious, I had a wild grin on my face and felt amped and ready to take on anyone.
More to explore
Luckily after that fight, there was still more to explore. In Madripoor, surrounded by allies new and old, we took a moment of respite in Princess Bar (run by Tyger). Here we got to interact with newly acquired ally Jean Grey, and the mutant teens she has been protecting. Though they are still a mystery to one another, Jean and Wolverine’s connection is immediate. It’s with her that he can admit that his anger sometimes scares him and that he wants to be better.
I enjoyed that Wolverine also makes time here for his teammates Mystique and Sabretooth. Mystique stays focused and on mission during combat, shifting through identities when needed. Here in Princess Bar, she can just be herself, and encourages Wolverine to do the same through a friendly but vulnerable game of Never Have I Ever. Sabretooth spends most of the game’s opening antagonizing Wolverine and calling him a runt, which is fair enough given he stands about as tall as Sabretooth’s navel. But it’s clear their relationship runs deeper, and Sabretooth feels spurned by Wolverine’s original exit from the group.
While exploring the streets of Lowtown, I could take the time to check out some of Wolverine’s other looks and claw types, which ranged from a classic undershirt and jeans outfit to a Weapon X helmeted style. While walking around the Princess Bar, Wolverine’s Enhanced Senses could pick up on conversation or music that could guide him to specific rooms, or trail a teammate’s scent to find where they’ve run off to. Exploring each room sometimes led to a conversation, or finding easter eggs, like Mystique’s wedding pictures, or an IOU written on an ace of spades card from one Remy LeBeau.
Take the time to explore each new location, as Wolverine can discover hidden crates with raw upgrade materials or collectable whisky bottles. Logan can also stumble across Nightmare Doors, which transport him to a dreamlike cabin to take part in a Nightmare Trial. These timed speed trials reimagine different locations from the game into a vertical fever dream, where he can race to the end to unlock a forgotten memory from his past.
Players can sink their claws into Wolverine’s story and tap into his rage when Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15 on PS5 consoles.

We have watched the Void stretch across the galaxy for too long. The threat posed to our Liberty is too great and we can no longer stand by as the Illuminate gain ground.
Helldivers, you are needed on the battlefield of a new frontier–one more wild and uncertain than any we have faced prior. We must venture into their haunted abyss, the Void, and liberate it back into Super Earth’s control.Today’s Devoid of Liberty release also coincides with Helldivers 2 entering the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Starting today, Helldivers 2 will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe members.
Journey to the Void
Getting into the Void presents a unique challenge. High Command has ordered reconnaissance missions to gather as much intel as possible in order to give us an advantage.

You will be given new objectives to conquer–destroy Illuminate spires and gateways, complete data reconnaissance, and infiltrate Illuminate structures with your team.
New secondary objectives will also become available, from eradicating Void mutations to extracting materials for research, as well as the opportunity to open a secondary extraction zone on the map to potentially evacuate your squad faster.
Exterminate new threats
As you fight your way toward the Void, you’ll encounter new, hideously mutated organisms. We have received intelligence reports that indicate these metamorphosed creatures are emerging from the heart of the Void–they are ghoulish diversions wrought into existence by the Illuminate scourge to threaten our freedom.

Title: Kinetic Publishing Showcase recap: 5 new indie games coming to PS5
Date: Wed, 12 Aug 2026 19:30:04 +0000
Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/08/12/kinetic-publishing-showcase-recap-5-new-indie-games-coming-to-ps5/
You may have heard of Kinetic Games through our horror title, Phasmophobia. It’s sold over 27 million copies, and thanks to this success, in January of this year we established our very own publishing label, Kinetic Publishing. Our aim at Kinetic Publishing is to support and empower indie devs to create incredible games, giving them the level of support that our founder, Daniel Knight, would have benefitted from when he was first creating Phasmophobia.
Today we debuted our Kinetic Publishing showcase, where we got to reveal the first five games we’ll be publishing throughout 2027 and 2028. These dev teams all have unique, inspiring stories and just as equally exciting games. From a true sci-fi horror to a witch-tech delivery adventure, and everything in between, we’ve curated a selection of games we hope players are going to love, and of course, they will all be available on PlayStation 5.
Contact Protocol
Can you make the right decisions under pressure? That’s the question the team behind Contact Protocol wants the answer to. In this sci-fi starship job simulator, you are tasked with the scourge that is corporate admin as you assess the intentions of incoming ships on the Pale Horse’s voyage to Jupiter’s largest moon. Compare incoming information against company records and do your best to determine whether ships are friend or foe. But make the wrong decision and all it takes is one torpedo to guarantee your safety – while sending the other crew to their death in the vacuum of space.

In Contact Protocol, players’ cognitive load is gradually ramped up while being offered near-impossible decisions, and we found the combination of this stressful gameplay combined with allocated downtime and the incredible yet somewhat unsettling art style, to be something really special. It’s high stakes, it’s intense, but it’ll leave you coming back for more, as players will soon find out when Contact Protocol launches on PlayStation 5 in Spring 2027.
Crescent County
Crescent County is a game that sings with sunset-soaked, dreamy graphics from the mind of creative director and illustrator, Anna Hollinrake. Based on her own lived experience moving to the Isle of Wight, players will discover what it means to find home on this magical crescent isle. From crunchy, flow-state motorbroom driving, to messy, gossip-fuelled local drama and flirty relationships, Crescent County aims to offer the experience of Kiki’s Delivery Service meets the bikes of Akira set on a rural, witch-tech island.

We couldn’t deny how much we loved the gorgeous, painterly world of Crescent County, a down-to-earth passion project that oozes good vibes. Celebrating queerness, found-family and community in a way we couldn’t ignore, get ready to lose yourself in the beauty of Crescent County when it comes to PlayStation 5 in Summer 2027.
Shellbound
Shellbound has taken the best bits of a metroidvania and set them on a ‘big ass snail’. Giving real meaning to the phrase ‘living world’, players take on the role of a parasite exploring an environment where organs are labyrinths and the snail’s very biology can reshape the paths available to them. The combination of combat and platforming provides the much-loved metroidvania challenge, proving simple to learn but satisfyingly difficult to master.

But Shellbound is pushing the limits of the genre, giving players parasitic powers that allow them to take control of enemies and NPCs and each creature offering unique movement, combat, and traversal skills. Harnessing these abilities is the key to reaching hidden areas, unlocking new routes, and defeating powerful bosses – which players will learn when Shellbound launches on PlayStation 5 in Summer 2028.
Aether Wizard Life
The creativity and ambition of the team at Vonder Games is truly something to behold, as they combine town-building, platforming and exploration with action-RPG combat, farming, and dating in Aether Wizard Life. Players take on the role of an apprentice mage in the haunted town of Starfall, and must uncover the secrets of mysterious wizard kidnappings. Along the way, you are free to choose what tasks to take on each day, whether that’s growing magical crops, caring for exotic creatures, venturing into deep and twisting dungeons to fight monsters, or talking with the townsfolk to discover new side quests and problems to solve.

From the Ghibli-inspired art style, to the story behind the town’s mystery taking inspiration from the fascinating, real history of witches – we were captivated by the team’s attention to detail in Aether Wizard Life. This new cozy wizard life sim launches on Playstation 5 in Autumn 2028.
Precognition
We are beyond excited to announce that we will be partnering with Half Mermaid Productions on their newest game, Precognition. Originally teased under the name ‘Project C’, Precognition is a sci-fi horror being created by Immortality and Her Story creator Sam Barlow in collaboration with acclaimed horror director Brandon Cronenberg. At Kinetic, we’ve played (and gotten hooked on) Sam’s previous FMV games like Immortality and Her Story, and jumped at the chance to work with such a talented team.
Of course, Kinetic is best known for its own horror title, so we’re very happy to have an equally thrilling game in our publishing lineup. And Precognition aims to go one step further than Sam’s previous games, giving players a real sense of agency and freedom in choosing where the story goes. Be sure to interrogate the smallest of details, and get ready to face the consequences that await when you meddle with the flow of time, when Precognition launches on PlayStation 5 in Spring 2028.

Title: "Obvious tells and subtle hints" - Alien: Isolation's lead designer on the lethal variety of The Lost Wild's dinosaurs
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 16:00:00 +0000
Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/obvious-tells-and-subtle-hints-alien-isolations-lead-designer-on-the-lethal-variety-of-the-lost-wilds-dinosaurs
First-person sneakalot The Lost Wild is about surviving on an island overrun by dinosaurs, from the relatively affable diplodocus to the absolutely intolerable allosaurus. I'm not sure how you survive a brush with an allosaurus, because allosauruses appear to be provoked by any and all objects in their vicinity. "An area [of the project] I find particularly fascinating is the difference between dinosaur behaviour for each species, and what that could mean for gameplay and character," says game director Gary Napper, who joined developers Great Ape Games in 2025 following stints at Rare, Supermassive, and Creative Assembly.
"Taking the team's expertise and current day understanding of dinosaur findings has allowed us to really lean into some of these theories," he continues. "One of my favourites is a fact that they know that the allosaurus was quite an erratic and aggressive creature, because they found its teeth embedded in things like rocks and logs as well as other creatures, implying that it would just attack or go for anything around it." OK, so - what's my exit strategy, when facing an allosaurus? Do I just try to look like the least pugnacious rock?

Title: Troubled Witcher multiplayer spinoff Project Sirius struck with new round of layoffs

Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/troubled-witcher-multiplayer-spinoff-project-sirius-struck-with-new-round-of-layoffs
Project Sirius, CD Projekt Red’s unsettled attempt at a multiplayer Witcher spinoff, is facing further difficulties. Following a Kotaku report, the Polish dev-publishers confirmed to IGN that they were cutting 18 staff members from the project – believed to be around a quarter of the game’s overall team size, which was already dwarfed by the CDPR crew assigned to mainline singleplayer sequel The Witcher 4.
Of the affected developers, half have been made redundant, while half "have been invited to internal recruitment processes for potential roles on other CD Projekt Red projects." This is also the second time the company have slashed Project Sirius staff, with layoffs following an effective reboot in 2023.

Title: Necrons are "extremely arrogant aliens that feel like they cannot die," so their weakness in Dawn of War 4 is an obvious one: greed
Date: Thu, 13 Aug 2026 13:02:02 +0000
Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/necrons-are-extremely-arrogant-aliens-that-feel-like-they-cannot-die-so-their-weakness-in-dawn-of-war-4-is-an-obvious-one-greed
Dawn of War 4's Necrons are the hard nuts of Warhammer 40,000. Each one of their soldiers is a >soul trapped in a living metal body, practically immortal thanks to the faction's reanimation technology. Like a clothes moth infestation, once they've made their home on a planet, they're virtually impossible to get rid of. They lend themselves to wars of attrition, constantly expanding their borders while absorbing enemy attacks.
"Players love this type of playstyle," Dawn of War 4's senior game designer Elliott Verbiest tells me, "but it's something that isn't necessarily conducive to interesting multiplayer gameplay. It's kind of the same deal as rock, paper scissors where both players are just throwing rock over and over and over again."
To counter this, developers King Art Games have introduced a chink in the Necron's armour, and it's a very human impulse: greed.
